BORGO NONINO – BOUTIQUE E TOUR DISTILLERIA
2 Via Camillo Benso Conte di Cavour Persereano
In January 2020, Nonino Distillatori was named 'Best Distillery in the World' Spirit Brand/Distiller of the Year 2019 by Wine Enthusiast, marking the first time this honor was awarded to Italy and Grappa. The Nonino family has been dedicated to the Art of Distillation since 1897. This year marks the start of celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the Monovitigno® Nonino Grappa Revolution, created in 1973 by Giannola and Benito Nonino, by distilling the pomace of Picolit grapes separately, elevating Grappa from Cinderella to Queen of Distillates, as recognized in a 2017 case study by the London School of Economics.
In 1975, the Nonino family established the Nonino Risit d’Aur Prize – Barbatella d’Oro, aimed at stimulating, rewarding, and officially recognizing ancient Friulian native grape varieties, and preserving the region’s biodiversity. In 1984, they created Acquavite d’Uva, ÙE®, by distilling whole grapes. The Ministerial authorization for its production (D.M. 20.10.84) was granted following a specific request by the Nonino family.
Just 500 meters from the distillery, the company welcomes guests at Borgo Nonino, a complex consisting of seven rural buildings, the oldest dating back to the Napoleonic era, also used as an aging cellar. Today, the seven Aging Cellars of Nonino Distilleries house 2,510 barriques and small barrels made of various woods, all under the supervision of the Customs Agency, with 0% colorants. The Nonino family continues to evolve Grappa as an Italian Cocktail Spirit, now the star of fantastic cocktails and aperitifs. #BeBraveMixGrappa
