Opened in 1950 in the annexes of the 18th-century Palazzo di Prampero, Hostaria alla Tavernetta has absorbed the eclectic personality of its owners. The family’s hospitality is one of the restaurant’s strengths, supported by the experience of Roberto Romano, the grace of Giuliana Petris, and now the enthusiasm of their son Matteo, a sommelier.

Their management, which began in 2003, has quickly made the restaurant one of the most welcoming spots in Udine’s city center. The foundation of the restaurant lies in the local territory and its finest products. Great attention to quality, respect for seasonality, and the enhancement of traditions—while embracing some intriguing culinary influences—are shared with chef Eddi Riotto.
