Museo della Moda
13 Borgo Castello Gorizia
The Gorizia Fashion and Applied Arts Museum is located on the first floor of the Dornberg and Tasso Houses. Inside, rooms have been reconstructed that simulate the craft activities related to clothing, such as shoemaking, hattering and tailoring. In the section dedicated to the production of glass and ceramics, dating back to the 18th century, one can admire valuable containers from the old apothecaries and 19th century wrought irons from local production. Among the most valuable pieces of clothing is bobbin lace, which has a tradition in the Goriška region dating back to 1672. The collections of clothes in the museum range from the 18th to the 20th century, with particular reference to the period between 1890 and the First World War. Gloves and handbags dating from the 18th century to 1925 are also on display.
