The origins of the company trace back to the medieval monastery of Santa Maria di Aquileia, home to the estate since 1850 when Baron Ettore Ritter de Záhony transformed the former monastery into an innovative agricultural enterprise dedicated to viticulture. The lily, the emblem of the Benedictines, is still carved into the entrance gate. The care of the work and the quality of the wine were immediately recognized, earning numerous awards at all major European exhibitions, including the 1899 Paris World’s Fair.

The company is based in Precenicco, in the DOC Friuli Latisana area. The 38-hectare estate, entirely cultivated with vineyards, includes a large, modern winery that welcomes guests amid the scents and greenery of the surrounding countryside. The entire production process, from the vineyard to winemaking, from cellar operations to bottling, and even direct sales, is overseen by the owners.

Where the fresh water of the Tagliamento River meets the sea lies Al Cason, a charming restaurant named after its original purpose as a shelter for fishermen. Inside, the traditional architecture of the "cason," with its straw trusses and sloping roof, harmonizes with the modern and refined taste of the decor.
